Old New Worlds: 20th-Century Music for Cello and Piano
This CD features lyrical music for cello and piano from the first half of the 20th century, a period in which the "old" musical styles of late Romanticism fought a battle against the "new" styles of experimentation and expansion, with marvelous results for players and listeners.
The pianist in this CD is Fabio Gardenal, whom I've known since ouradolescence in São Paulo and with whom I've played many recitals overthe years. Fabio is an assistant professor of piano at New York University. To find out more about Fabio, click here.
